Skin Concerns & Treatment Approach

Medical assessment and individualised management planning with Dr Sarah Anthony, Specialist GP

Skin concerns can have a range of contributing factors and often require careful medical assessment before any treatment is considered. At Dr Sarah Anthony, care is guided by clinical evaluation, evidence-based decision-making, and patient safety.

Rather than offering pre-determined treatments or packages, management is tailored to the individual based on medical history, clinical findings, and personal circumstances.

skin Concerns commonly assessed:

Dr Sarah commonly assesses and manages a range of skin concerns, including:

  • Acne and acne scarring

  • Pigmentation and sun damage

  • Rosacea and facial redness

  • Scarring, stretch mark and texture concerns including keloid or hypertrophic scarring

  • Skin ageing concerns and structural changes

  • General skin health review

  • Hyperhidrosis/excessive sweating

  • Hair Loss

Assessment may include medical history, clinical skin examination, and, where appropriate, skin analysis and standardised clinical photography.

Begin with a medical consultation

Your first appointment is a comprehensive assessment designed to understand your skin and discuss appropriate options before any treatment is considered.

Treatment Approach

Management options depend on clinical findings and individual circumstances. Not all patients will require treatment, and not all treatments are suitable for all patients.

Where clinically appropriate, management may include:

  • Medical skin treatments

  • Energy-based devices (laser, light and device-based therapies)

  • Biostimulation and collagen induction

  • Prescription and cosmeceutical skincare

  • Procedural skin treatments

All recommendations are made following consultation and discussion of risks, benefits, and alternatives.

All medical procedures carry risks and benefits, which will be discussed during your consultation. We do not target cosmetic procedure advertising to under-18s. Suitability is assessed in consultation.

How Decisions Are Made

Treatment planning is guided by:

  • Medical assessment and clinical reasoning

  • Consideration of your medical history and risk factors

  • Discussion of your concerns and goals

  • Review of suitable options and alternatives

  • Informed consent and shared decision-making

In some cases, observation, skincare optimisation, or no treatment may be the most appropriate option.

Monitoring & Review

Standardised clinical photography and skin analysis may be used to support accurate assessment and to monitor changes over time. This allows for objective comparison and informed adjustment of your management plan as needed.
