Not dramatically angry. Quietly, persistently angry at watching patients come in having already been through three clinics, multiple treatments, and still not understanding their own skin or their own goals.

I trained in plastic and reconstructive surgery. I worked in skin cancer medicine. I’ve spent years in clinical environments where assessment is non-negotiable — where you don’t touch something until you understand it.

And then I looked at the aesthetic industry and saw the opposite. Fast bookings. Treatment menus. Consultations that lasted twelve minutes and ended with a printed quote.

I opened this clinic to do it differently.

One doctor.

Proper time.

Clinical rigour applied to cosmetic concerns — because your skin deserves the same standard of thinking your GP applies to everything else.

That’s not a marketing line. That’s just how medicine should work.

And Aesthetic Medicine is still medicine at its core.

Most patients walk into an aesthetic clinic braced for the upsell. They’ve been burned before — pushed toward treatments before anyone’s looked properly at their skin, sold a menu rather than a plan. They come in with their guard up. And honestly? That’s the right instinct.

I’m the only clinic in Launceston invested in state of the art clinical imaging systems by Clinical Imaging Australia — because you deserve to see exactly what’s happening on your skin, measured and documented, not estimated. And I’m the only clinic in Tasmania offering Universkin science-backed personalised skin care — because your skin is not a meal order and your treatment plan shouldn’t be either.

I don’t sell treatments. I diagnose. I measure. I build a plan based on evidence, and if the evidence changes, the plan changes. I’m not here to move product. I’m here to get you results you can actually see.

If you’ve spent years being sold things that didn’t work, being rushed through consultations, or leaving a clinic feeling like a transaction rather than a patient — you’re exactly who I built this for.

Skin science, without the noise.

The Background That Changed How I See Skin

I didn't come to aesthetic medicine through a weekend course or a product rep lunch. I came through surgical theatres, skin cancer clinics, and years of watching what happens to skin when it's managed properly — and what happens when it isn't.

My training in plastic and reconstructive surgery taught me to think in three dimensions. To understand structure, healing, tissue behaviour, and consequence. To ask what happens next, not just what looks better now. To have a plan, and be able to pivot when that plan is not achieving goals. My work in skin cancer medicine taught me that skin is not cosmetic. It's an organ. It has a history, a biology, and a set of drivers that don't care what treatment you have planned. My work as a Dietitian informed me how I think about the skin from the inside out.

When I looked at the aesthetic industry through that lens, I couldn't unsee what was wrong with it. And I couldn't keep practising any other way.

What Actually Happens In This Clinic

Some things that happen here that probably won't surprise you if you've been failed by a clinic before — but might surprise you if you haven't.

I turn patients away. If treatment isn't appropriate for you, I'll tell you. Not because I don't want your business, but because treating you when it isn't right, isn't medicine. It's just revenue.

I refer out. If what you need is a dermatologist, a GP, or a specialist, I'll tell you that too. My job is to get you to the right outcome — not to keep you in this clinic at all costs.

I spend more time on your assessment than most clinics spend on your entire appointment. Because that's where the actual work happens. Everything else is just execution.

This is not a high-volume practice. It is a considered one.

WHAT I ACTUALLY BELIEVE ABOUT SKIN

Most people come to an aesthetic clinic because something is bothering them. A patch of pigmentation that appeared after pregnancy. Redness that never really went away. Skin that stopped behaving the way it used to and nobody has been able to explain why.

The treatments exist. They work. But treatments applied without understanding the underlying driver are at best temporary and at worst counterproductive. I've seen patients come in having spent thousands on laser for pigmentation that was hormonal — meaning it would return, with or without treatment, until the hormonal driver was addressed.

I am not anti-treatment. I am anti-treatment-without-thinking.

Your skin has a story. My job is to read it properly before we decide what to do about it.

THE PART THAT'S JUST ABOUT ME

I'm a Specialist GP and Dietitian, based in Launceston, Tasmania. I have qualifications in Aesthetic Medicine, Laser Safety, Integrative Skincare, and even a Guinness World record.

I run this clinic alone, by design. One doctor, one standard of care, no variability depending on who you see that day.

I built this practice to be the clinic I couldn't find when I was looking. The one where the doctor actually looks. Where the plan is specific to you. Where nobody is trying to upsell you at the end of a twelve-minute consultation.

I am not the right doctor for everyone. I am the right doctor for people who are done guessing.
